Monster Hunter Wilds Trailer Confirms the Hammer is Still a Hammer
In the latest installment of promotional materials for Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has shifted its focus to the Hammer weapon. While other combat options have received an array of new techniques, the Hammer retains its core gameplay, delivering powerful blows to creatures as fiercely as ever.
Similar to the Great Sword, the Hammer allows players to charge their attacks. Its unique Blunt damage gives it an edge in stunning foes, making encounters more strategic. The introduction of the Hook Slinger enables swift movements, enhancing agility during battles, although signature moves like the Spinning Meteor remain intact.
What stands out this time is the striking armor set and the Hammer’s aesthetic, which features designs reminiscent of a plague doctor, allowing players to face off against monsters in style.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch in 2025, available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. A new trailer showcasing further excitement—and a potential new adversary—will premiere during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20th. Attendees can also experience the game firsthand from August 21st to 25th.
